SCEE showcases PlayStation® Home with addition of virtual schedule to its Leipzig press programme
Media from around the world join leading developers in PlayStation® Home for a selection of intimate Q&A sessions
Leipzig Games Convention, August 22, 2008: Following the success of the first media briefings conducted in PlayStation®Home at E3 in July, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has used the PlayStation Event Space in Home (the 3-D, online, social gaming experience of PLAYSTATION®Network that delivers everything from exclusive game content to media briefing and events areas), to offer journalists another chance to conduct media briefings with a difference.

The invitation-only Q&A sessions saw groups of journalists questioning the avatar representatives of SCEE first party developers about forthcoming titles including SOCOM™: Confrontation (Slant Six), Killzone®2 (Guerrilla), MotorStorm®: Pacific Rift (Evolution) and WipEout™ HD (Liverpool Studios), as well as joining a schedule of one-to-one sessions with Shuhei Yoshida, the President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios.
Journalists had the option of conducting interviews verbally, via a Bluetooth headset or using text, either with a USB keyboard or the built in Home keyboard. Inside the PlayStation Events Space, journalists could walk around and soak up the atmosphere and even play mini-games while waiting for their Q&A slots. The interviews were conducted in separate, branded rooms for Killzone 2 and MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, which both contained Leipzig specific games trailers; the remainder were held in a general Games Convention interview space.

While the developers entered PlayStation® Home from Leipzig in Germany (apart from the team from Slant Six who were in the US), more than thirty media joined the sessions from around the world – making this PlayStation®Home occasion a truly global media experience. |
